Today in the martial arts complex of the capitals Olympic Village was launched the Asian Sambo Championship with the participation of 400 athletes from 17 countries. On the first day of competition Turkmens won 23 medals - nine gold, seven silver and seven bronze. It was reserved for our sportsmen assured first place in the team event.
At the top of the podium in the national team of Turkmenistan rose Mohammed Kossekov, Sapa Sapayev, Ahmet Tanriberdiev, Charymyrat Annagurbanov Margarita Filippova, Zuhra Madraimova, Gulbahar Madreimova, Dinara Dzhumadurdyeva and Nilufar Muhiddinova. "Silver" in the asset of Maksuddzhan Avlyakulyev, Mergen Joraev, Govher Atdaeva, Dinara Khallyeva, Ogulgerek Nurmedova, Farida Mammadova and Mehriban Kurbanova, and closed the top three winners - Alty Altyev, Kuvvat Kurbanov, Niyazmyrat Shakhmuradov, Arslan Hodzhamammedov, Begench Annayev, Kadir Redzhepgulyev and Arslan Khodzhaniyazov.
Today, it was held an opening ceremony of the Asia Sambo Championship. A colorful presentation was accompanied by performances of famous Turkmen singers and dance groups. Demonstration programs have shown the masters of sports in gymnastics, and acrobatics.
The competitions of such level are held in Turkmenistan for the first time, thus it is necessary to conduct testing the Asian Championship at a highest organizational level. This will be the best indicator of preparation level for future tournaments on sambo-wrestling during the V Asian Games 2017 Indoor and Martial Arts, which will take place in our country solely because of the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, an active supporter and promoter of the sports movement.
On the eve of the sport events, the judicial seminar was organized in the Olympic Village. Leading specialists of the International Federation of Sambo Evgeniyi Selivanov and Alexander Polyakov, as well as Chairman of the Board of Judges of Russia Boris Sova were invited to conduct the seminar. The innovations in the rules of international judging are the theme of presentation which is held by the guests to their Turkmen colleagues. The rules were introduced in protocols in December last year. After the seminar, the Turkmen specialists received certificates.
Successful start of our wrestlers will give confidence to the rest of national team of Turkmenistan who are going to compete for medals in the Asian Championship for another two days.
The competition will last until 29 May.
