Final match of men group (sport version) in the weight category up to 52 kg became the most remarkable where Berdi Meretgeldiev from Turkmenistan team met Belek Barakanov from Kyrgyzstan. Our compatriot finished the fight in his favour ahead of time by closing pin down of his competitor by hip throw.

The same is related to the clear actions on the sport mat of our wrestler Tejen Tejenov, who ahead of time gained his victory over Farruh Jumaev in men sport discipline in the weight category up to 82 kg.

The gold medals today were conquered by Muminjan Arzikulov, Parahat Byashimov, Abdulla Babayev, Aysoltan Gorjovova, Chinar Turayeva, Dinara Rozykulova. The second step of the podium was occupied by Hakberdy Jumaev, Nazar Durdyev, Ishanmyrat Ataev, Ruslan Esgerov, Jahan Muhammedova, Angelina Filippova, Leyla Muhammedova, Maria Lohova and Myahri Akmyradova. It is worth making special mention of the coaches who trained our sportsmen to competitions. These are Honoured Coaches of Turkmenistan Ata Adaev, Omar Muhammetnazarov, Dortkuly Tejenov and Bayram Halyllaev.

According to the results of Asian Championship, Turkmen sambo wrestlers presently are the leaders in this sport category in Asian part of the continent. This fact gives the confidence that during V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which are going to be held in the next year at the same place in Olympic village our athletes will justify their current success by new victories.

High status of Turkmen school of self-defence without weapon (sambo) in the region is proven by the fact that Chairman of Martial Arts Federation Ata Adaev is the Vice-President of Asian Sambo Federation as well as the President Central Asian Sport branch at the same time.

Hosting of Asian Championship became one more good practice for our volunteers who would have to cater for Asian Games – 2017. One more important international event Olympics in Brazil is ahead of our volunteers where they will have to consolidate their skills.
