The best professors of higher educational establishments of Turkmenistan attended an annual Program on pedagogical mastery and student achievement held under the auspices of Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Teacher of the Year Award recognizes those amazing teachers who best represent the profession and symbolize the profession's contribution to quality education.
The 2016 Teacher of the Year Award honors an outstanding teacher, Department Chief of German, French and Spanish languages of Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi, PHD in pedagogical science, Professor Ali Kurbanov.
Ali Kurbanovich has been teaching for 45 years. For more than twenty years he devoted to teaching career at Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi. During this time, Ali Kurbanovich prepared many contesters and winners of Olympiads including those who participate at the international level. Under his professional expertise, graduate and doctoral students gained experiences in methodology of teaching English language and history of pedagogic.
The experienced teacher Ali Kurbanovich has a great reputation for the work of total 150 scientific and methodical works, tens of textbooks, including those prepared by co-authorship with his colleagues. Ali Kurbanov honors the Jubilee Medal “20th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan” for his professional achievements.
He rightly enjoys great prestige and respect as in his institutional circle as well as in the scientific and pedagogical world, and not only in our country. Ali Kurbanov participated in many international scientific forums. Lately, he was invited to Manchester to participate in the Scientific Conference on methodology of teaching foreign languages.
Ali Kurbanov has been actively involved in preparation of volunteers of the 2017 Asian Games. Under his mentorship, students raise their levels of English language skill, and enrich their vocabulary.
As a Master of Sports in table tennis, Ali Kurbanov actively participates in inter-university competitions, the National Olympics, giving a worthy example to youth.

The 2016 Student of the Year Award honors the student of medical faculty of State Medical University of Turkmenistan, a fellow scholarship Agabay Salaev.
The final stage of the contest was held among three universities - International Oil and Gas University, Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.
Along with the honored winner of the 2016 Student of the Year Award, 3 prize winners were also conferred. They were a fourth year student of Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction Shatlyk Akmuradov, and a fourth year student of Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Danatar Abdullayev, a freshman of International University of Humanities and Development Sheker Jumaguliyeva.
The winners and prize winners had to undergo multi-level testing in computer technology, Turkmen and English languages, as well as a number of humanitarian disciplines, including sociology, philosophy, economic theory, basic principles of legislation and history of Turkmenistan.
The list of intellectual achievements Agabai Salayev complements his successful participation in the International Open Student Internet Olympiad. He gained one silver and two gold medals. This academic year, Agabay became the winner of the subject tours of this multi-stage Olympiad in chemistry. In addition, he is a winner of Inter- University Contests on Swimming.
Agabay Salaev is a winner of the 2016 Student of the Year Award, a laureate of Youth Prize named after Magtymguly and a holder of honorary diplomas which were conferred by Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and Ministry of Health and Medical Industries of Turkmenistan. This is a result of his painstaking study, and his active participation in the research work. It testifies the vital position, his high intellectual potential, and sense of purpose including his ability to achieve set goals.
