The participants of the intellectual contest, held in the Bulgarian city of Ruse, were the representatives of 27 universities. Together with the host country, representatives from five countries competed for the Olympic medals in mathematics: the Russian Federation, Romania, the Republic of Slovenia, Macedonia and Turkmenistan.
There are 9 medals of various values, thanks to our country for being honored the first place in the team event.
The repeated successes were the result of an outstanding performance at the Olympiad had performed among three universities - the International University for Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State Institute of Energy, the Turkmen Agricultural University.
Holders of gold medals are students of the Turkmen State Institute of Energy Toremurad Gurbanov and Shageldy Hudayberdiyev and a fourth year student of the Turkmen Agricultural University Eziz Kakyshov. Silver medals were awarded three freshmen - Mekan Khojayev from the Turkmen State Institute of Energy, Nuryagdy Tirkeshov and Gulli Gullyeva from the International University for Humanities and Development.
Gurbangul Begenjova and Shahlo Hasanova from the International University for Humanities and Development and a third-year student from the Turkmen Agricultural University Nury Atadjanov won bronze medals.
It is significant that most of the members of our team were first-year students, who were able to compete with more experienced contestants. Having demonstrated by Turkmen participants their excellent knowledge of the subject is the best proof of the success of our proclaimed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov innovative educational reform, based on the achievements of the national pedagogy and best international practices.
