At the base of the physical training-recreational complex of the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after D.Azadi, the first state competition of volunteers among students of higher educational institutions of our country has taken place.
This competition became the joint initiative of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Executive committee on preparation for V Asian indoor and martial arts games and the National centre of trade unions of Turkmenistan.
Student teams consisting of five persons from each higher educational establishment have become the competition participants. Competition passed in three nominations. It has begun with the improvised meeting of "visitors" - members of foreign delegations - participants of the forthcoming Aziada, the "role" of which has been entrusted a large group of volunteers.
Further, all teams have acted with presentations, the majority of which have been prepared in an interactive format.
Competitive works of volunteers were devoted to the history and present day of Turkmenistan, features of culture - picturesque and original traditions and customs of the Turkmen people. Stories in English about unique historical and cultural monuments located in different corners of our country have been organically interwoven to the narrative canvas of presentations. Competitors have demonstrated their knowledge of history of volunteer movements, the first experience of creation of the voluntary centers at domestic high schools.
The special attention has been given to the formation of tasks among the youth environment of priorities of healthy lifestyle and development in our country of sports of high achievements under the patronage of the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Competitors have devoted their works to sports included into the Aziada-2017 program. Colourful presentations have been devoted as a whole, to the Olympic township, and its separate sports constructions.
Thematic quiz has begun after presentations competition. Upon termination of the competitive program, solemn ceremony of announcement of prize-winners has taken place. The team of the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after D.Azadi were awarded the competition "Grand prix" and “The Best volunteer team” titles.
For good preparation and will to win, traditional three prize-winning places have also been awarded. The first place was gained by students of the Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly. The second – by representatives of the Turkmen state institute of architecture and construction and the Turkmen state institute of economy and management. The third place was divided between three teams - Institute of international relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, International Turkmen-Turkish University, as well as International university of oil and gas.
All winners were awarded with special letters of commendation and memorable gifts on behalf of organizers of the first state competition of volunteers.
