Awarding of the winners of competition was held in Ashgabat within the framework of the joint project of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for environmental protection and land resources and the European Commission “Assistance to introduction of sustainable development strategies in Turkmenistan - rational use of natural and energy resources.
The purpose of competition – the development of scientific-applied projects in the context of energy saving problematics. From 26 student’s works have been selected ten the best, representing six higher educational institutions of our country. The jury structure included national and international experts in the sphere of energy saving and environmental protection as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Education.
- We are pleasantly surprised with interesting works and high-grade rivalry of humanitarian and technical higher educational establishments, - noted the senior expert of the project Petra Opitts. - The first place we have awarded to Imamberdi Durdiyev from Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communication. Bayramgeldy Bakshiyev from the International Oil and Gas University became the second. In view of considerable quantity of the works, which are worthy of attention, we have divided the third place between two participants - Islam Orazov and Mivegozel Geldiyeva - students of the International Oil and Gas University and Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli accordingly.
The representative of leadership of the joint project of EU and the State Committee, the jury member of competition Jean-Jacque Dote has noticed that the student youth of Turkmenistan responsibly approaches to the issues of careful attitude to natural resources and development of ecologically safe technologies.
The teacher of Turkmen State Energy Institute and the head of high school Council of young scientists Azat Atayev has underlined that thanks to “open doors” policy initiated by the nation leader, the national higher educational establishments have today possibility to develop the international cooperation in scientific-educational sphere, to adopt the best world experience in issues of ecological culture.
All participants of competition have been encouraged, and winners received the certificates and valuable prizes - laptops of last generation.
