Penangylych Ezizgyljov who had no rivals in juniors group (up to 18 years) became another golden medallist in our team during world competition that took place in the capital of Italy – Rome.
The competition gathered strongest supporters of this intellectual game from three continents – Eurasia, North America and Africa. The contest for the awards were held in the “draw of debutes” discipline where the computer does first three moves for competitors.
Amangul Berdieva scored 26 points of 32 possible. The trainee of Byashim and Maksat Durdyev became the best checker player of the planet, having won over the existed world champion Nadejda Chijevskaya from Ukraine. The ex-winner become only bronze prize winner with 22 points on this competition.
Altynay Ovezova showed quite good result in women group, scored 21 points and taken 4th place. Turkmen 16-years old girl managed to win 3:1 against the abovementioned N. Chijevskaya. This gives the reason to predict bright perspectives of young and talented girl from Balkanabat who is trained by Amangul Berdieva.
In contest for leadership in junior group, Penagylych Ezizgylyjov overtook two representatives of the hosts of championship – Italian checker players by one score in the final round (10 out of 16 possible)
Thus, the National Anthem of Turkmenistan was played twice during award ceremony of the world championship winners, which is best evidence of their sport superiority.
During the Congress of International checkers federation occurred after the competitions, President of this organization Richard Beckwith commended the high level of the skills of our sportsmen.
Currently, Turkmen National Checkers Team has started preparations for another large competition – World Cup, which would be held in Northern Ireland in September.
