In the framework of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Dialogue - a guarantee of peace”, The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office held a briefing on priorities and responsibilities of foreign policy of the country for 2022 and further period.
The representatives of the diplomatic missions, accredited in Geneva, the officers of the international organizations took part in the event. They learned the results that have been achieved at the end of 2021. In this regard, reference was made to the holding by Turkmenistan of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, the 15th Summit of the Leaders of the ECO Member States and the International Conference “Peace and Trust Policy – Basis of International Security, Stability and Development”, as an important stage in the development of the regional and international partnership.
On this basis, in new 2022, our Motherland is aimed at continuation of the strategic direction of reforms within the framework of implementation of tasks assigned by the head of the state.
The event was concluded with awarding of the Jubilee medals of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 25 ýyllygyna» (to the 25th anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan”) to the acting and former heads of the international organizations for merits in strengthening of the independence, sovereignty and legal status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, increasing the prestige of the country on the world scene and development of international relations, and on occasion of the 25th anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The medals were given to – H.E. Ms. Olga Algayerova, UN Under Secretary General, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe;
– former Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) H.E. Mr. Francis Gurry, who connected via online. H.E. Mr. George Mina was appointed Ambassador, Australian Permanent Mission to the WTO accepted medal for subsequent submission to addressee.
Promoting of Global initiative “Dialogue - a guarantee of peace” is aimed at bringing together the international community in strengthening traditions of the peaceful and trustful coexistence of people of the world, restoration of values, worldview, the comprehensive development of a culture of peace and trust in international relations.
