These days, VI International sport games “Children of Asia” organized under patronage of International Olympic Committee and the UNESCO are held in Yakutsk (Russia). More than three thousand athletes from 38 countries including Turkmenistan take part in the competition held under “From friendship in sport to world piece” motto.
More than 60 sportsmen in Turkmenistan national team contest for medals in nine type of sport. Our compatriot, referee of international class Aman Geldiyev was invited as wrestling referee.
As for today, our athletes have already won 5 medals – one gold, one silver and three bronze. Zyamuhammed Saparov competing in freestyle wrestling until 85 kilograms took the highest position. This was first international victory for student of Ashgabat sport school trained by Amangeldy Annarejepov that opens big prospects for him. In semi-final, he confidently won Kazakhstan wrestler S. Abylai and did not left any chances to host representative L. Haronov in the final fight.
Maksat Charyarov has managed to struggle to final sambo contest until 60 kg and won silver medal for national Turkmenistan team.
Two bronze medals in the same sport were brought to collection of sport achievements of our country by Didar Ovezmammedov (42 kg) and Arzuvgeldy Hommadov (55 kg). Mergen Pirnepesov won third bronze medal in competitions until 46 kg. The representative of Ashgabat Olympic school held four fights, three of which he won beautifully over wrestlers form Sri-Lanka, Yemen and Kazakhstan.
It is left to add that the representatives of Organizational Committee of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat in next year arrived to Yakutsk for gaining experience. 25 Turkmen students – volunteers attend the competition as well. туркменских студентов-волонтеров.
