In the last ten days of April this year, students of Turkmen universities will take part in the VIII Mathematical Olympiad of Nordic Universities (NCUMC-2022), organized by the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University).
A major mathematical review traditionally brings together hundreds of university students from around the world. Among the regular participants of the Olympiad are students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Poland, Estonia, Indonesia, Greece, the Czech Republic and other countries.
Every year, students from Turkmenistan actively and, most importantly, successfully participate in this Olympiad. Today, there is still time before the start of the next mathematical competition, and our experts on the “queen of sciences” purposefully use it to prepare for the competition.
As already known, each of the participants will have to solve seven problems that will be proposed by the organizers of the competition in the following areas of mathematics: number theory, probability theory and combinatorics, calculus, linear algebra and analytic geometry. The official language of the competition is English.
Responsible work related to the preparation of students for the Olympiads of various levels is carried out on the ground in the universities of the country by experienced teachers-mentors. Thanks to this joint work, the desired results are achieved, the treasury of achievements of students of domestic universities is steadily replenished.
Recall that last year, according to the results of NCUMC-2021, 7 winners and 26 prize-winners were determined from Turkmenistan. Thanks to this result, two Turkmen universities, having taken the 5th and 6th positions, entered the top ten universities participating in the Olympiad. These are the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the International University for the Humanities and Development. In total, students from 40 universities of the world took part in the competition last year.
