The forum dedicated to the widespread national holiday - Galla Bayramy, traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of July, held in the agricultural complex of the capital city.
The conference was attended by leaders and representatives of the agricultural sector’s entities, leading experts, farmers, breeders, scientists, members of industrial research institutes, teachers and students of specialized universities. Among the guests of honors- the noble farmers, labor veterans, honorable elders, grain growers of the leading farms from all over the country visit the city to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the anniversary date.
Galla Bayramy holiday marks the end of harvesting campaign to thank land-nurse which provides rich harvest for the painstaking work and care of farmers. This year, grain growers have successfully managed to implement an important state order: yielded and passed more than 1 million 600 thousand tons of selective wheat.
As mentioned in the speeches of the forum attendees, which guarantee plenty of food by increasing the volume of production of various agricultural products, the most important food as set a priority task to workers of agro-industrial complex of the country by the head of state.
Having acknowledged the far-sighted stand and effectiveness of the course chosen by President of Turkmenistan was a special award of Turkmenistan which was conferred by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for achievements in the field of food security, as one of the Millennium Development Goals.
The victorious results of the current harvesting campaign was made possible by complex measures undertaken in the framework of program development of the domestic crop production and agro-industrial sector, including issues on technical re-equipment and modernization of industry infrastructure, introduction of advanced technologies to provide workers, and farmers with high-quality seeds and mineral fertilizers. A clear indication of the enormous significance is given to cultivation, processing and storage of strategic agricultural crops –wheat. Moreover, the modern granary and flour mills enterprises are being built in all regions of the country.
Upon completion of the plenary session, a solemn ceremony held on behalf of President of Turkmenistan for the 2016 heroes of the harvest. They were conferred valuable gifts to grain growers, tenant farmers, masters-combiners and experienced agricultural workers, who have achieved high results in the development of the crop production.
Then, the industry forum continued in the conference hall of the Agricultural complex, and at the Turkmen Agricultural University. On the agenda it was highlighted further development of the domestic grain production, the practical implementation of advanced farming techniques, the results of scientific research in the field of seed production and selection, using the up-to-date technologies in the industrial grain processing.
