According to the results of competitions and classical blitz of the tournament it is added another three awards - two gold and silver medals.
One of the victories of our team brings Azat Nurmammedov (age group up to 13 years). As noted, “Rapid” discipline he took the second place, and now took the returned match in "classics" game. Another Vice-winner in the so-called rapid chess becomes Lala Shohradova who wins the gold medal in the blitz tournament among the age group up to 11 years. And her sister - Leila Shohradova wins the silver medal.
In Moscow tournament, the Master of International sport Yusup Atabayev stood twice on the top of the podium as part of the Turkmen team. A student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism has been the best in the Grandmaster group blitz matches in the classic competition (1.5 hours plus 30 seconds). In both cases, our compatriot does not give opponents a single chance, scoring a total of 12 wins and nine agreed to a draw.
This is not the first success of the young and talented Turkmen chess player. Yu. Atabayev gained dozens of awards, many of which have the highest dignity won at main competitions at the international level. For example, last year at the selective tournament of the World Chess Cup held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), he became the vice-champion, which ensured him a place in the composition of the participants of the honorary trophy tournament at the world’s scale.
The current success greatly increases the international rating of Yusup gaining 2460 points. To illustrate, he has already scored three points required standards of "International Grandmaster". Now, Yu. Atabayev from the top ranks has separates only 40 points. This is about two successful performances at similar rating tournaments. Taking into consideration of his consistent high performance, he will become the owner of the title grandmaster in the near future.
Another gold medal in the competitions held in Moscow, won Mergen Kakabayev, distinguished in the group of international masters. The student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism scored seven points from a possible nine (five wins and four draws). This victory secured our compatriot - the master of FIDE - the first score of the qualifying standard of international master.
The silver award was awarded the grandmaster Maksat Atabayev who was a part of the Turkmen team. He became vice-champion in the discipline "blitz." On the active side of the representative of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism it was the same points (8.5) as the winner has. Maksat yielded to his brother – Yusup Atabayev - only by the ratio factor.
And finally, the silver medal in the treasury of sports achievements of Turkmenistan has contributed the youngest representative of the national team – a 17-year-old Saparmyrat Atabayev, who took part in the classic competition. Despite his age, a graduate of the Ashgabat Specialized Chess and Drafts School was not afraid of challenging the more experienced and award-winning contestants, including grandmasters. And, as practice shows, he often becomes a winner in completing games. On the current international tournament he lost only his brother Yusup.
Currently, our sportsmen are actively preparing to participate in the World Chess Olympiad. To recall, S. Atabayev has been awarded the 2012 gold medal (in the group of sportsmen for the age category up to 16 years) in the main competition at the ancient intellectual game (Istanbul, Turkey). This time the 20-times national champion in various junior groups (a record number) will try to repeat his successes.
