At a video conference of specialists from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and representatives of the Astrakhan State University, issues of cooperation in the training of national personnel in educational institutions of the Astrakhan region were discussed. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Astrakhan Region with the assistance of the regional Ministry of Foreign Relations.

In the presentation of the vice-rector for international affairs of ASU, the advantages of teaching foreign students at a Russian university were revealed. In particular, it was noted that “Astrakhan State University has a unique experience of working with foreign students. Currently, more than 1,800 students from 53 countries of the world study at the university, and the vast majority are citizens of Turkmenistan.”

ASU offers educational programs that meet the requirements of the modern world market for the training of highly qualified personnel from among the citizens of Turkmenistan in the fisheries, agriculture, oil and gas industries, and in the field of digital technologies.

Students have access to the entire infrastructure of the university: modern educational buildings, unique laboratories, and their own technopark. In addition, in order to familiarize with the traditional values of the Turkmen people, a center of the Turkmen language and culture operates on the basis of ASU. He not only organizes events for university students, but also provides methodological assistance and support to the school named after Magtymguly Fragi, built in 2019 at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the end of the meeting, Egor Ugarov, Minister of Education and Science of the Astrakhan Region, addressed his colleagues with an invitation to take part in the II International Scientific Forum "Caspian 2022: Ways of Sustainable Development", which has already become a traditional communication platform for representatives of science and education, development institutions, business structures , industrial enterprises, start-ups, investors and the state authorities of the Caspian states, contributing to the formation and development of interregional and international scientific and technical cooperation and technological partnership.
