The Turkmen Agricultural Institute of the city of Dashoguz held the Olympiad in genetics. The best experts in this science were named seven university students who won prizes in the intellectual competition.
The winner of the competition was Vakhipjan Permankuliev, a second-year student studying in the specialty "Veterinary".
The second place according to the results of the Olympiad was taken by three students: Gozel Mirieva (I course, "Greenhouse"), Palvan Mukhammedov (II course, "Agrochemistry and Soil Science") and Enebay Annalyeva (III course, "Agroecology").
Three more students hold third prizes - Aylar Amanova (2nd year, "Greenhouse farming"), Gulnoza Masharipova (2nd year, "Crop selection and seed production") and Lachin Gurbanmukhammedova (2nd year, "Agrochemistry and soil science").
The winners of the prize places of the Olympiad were awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.
In total, 40 students took part in the Olympiad, who are studying in six areas of training at the university. Among them are five of the above, as well as "Agronomy". The students were offered 50 test questions related to the basic concepts and practical tasks of the course "Genetics". The Olympiad was held on the digital educational platform of the institute.
Among the main goals of the Olympiad, the organizers highlight the assessment of students' knowledge in the field of genetics, the promotion of their professional development, the encouragement of creative activity, the development of independent work skills, as well as the consolidation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
In addition, the Olympiad allowed students to acquire additional skills in the application of scientific knowledge, in particular, in the practical development and use of cell engineering methods in agriculture, and also contributed to the promotion of scientific activity in the development of effective methods for creating new varieties of agricultural crops, university teachers believe.
Summing up the foregoing, one main goal is defined both for various competitions held at the institute on a regular basis, and for all activities of the university - the training of highly qualified specialists, which is one of the main tasks of the national education system.
