During the visit, the Leader of the Nation made pilgrimage to holy Muslim places of the world, Мекку and Medina. His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud rendered very rare privilege to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – an honour to make prayer inside home of Allah – the Holly Kaaba during the night of 2 to 3 May, what became vivid evidence of endless respect rendered in this country to our people, State and our Arkadag.
The meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with President Alexander Lukashenko, held under official visit of Turkmen Leader to republic of Belarus in middle of May of this year, marked the beginning of new stage of Turkmen – Belarusian cooperation, successfully developing in both interstate format and within competent international organizations. The Heads of two friendly states has also took part in ceremonial opening of new complex of building of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, which construction started in October, 2014 in Minsk.
Participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the session of Councils of Heads of the States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tashkent in June 24, where our Leader was invited as honoured guest, became remarkable event of reviewed period.
As is known, Turkmenistan, being full member of more than 40 international structures, pays greatest attention to comprehensive development of partnership under largest organizations. Interested in successful integration into world political and economic space, our country takes an active part in the sessions of top rank level of international organizations while being their member. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is one them. Its main targets are consolidation of efforts for global peace, security and sustainable development, expansion of economic cooperation, scientific and cultural interrelation based of principles of equality, trust and mutual respect.
The cooperation with the SCO, which observe 15 years anniversary of its foundation in this year, has large perspectives in development of interregional relations, serving to the tasks of maximum involvement of present potential for comprehensive development of national economies and their successful integration in the system of global value chains.
During the forum, the leader of Turkmenistan held number of bilateral meetings with heads of some states including Chairman of People’s Republic of China Xi Jingping, President of Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani where invariable commitment of the Parties to traditional relations of friendship, course to full-scale cooperation with account of long-term perspective.

As is known, as for today, Turkmenistan and Russia signed more than 100 agreements enveloping all spheres of interstate cooperation including basic document – Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation from April 23, 2002.
