The Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction announced the holding of the Open International Internet Olympiad in the discipline "Strength of Materials" among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad. The Olympiad is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute, which will be celebrated on May 25, the Day of the City of Ashgabat. On the eve of the double events celebration, a number of solemn, interesting and informative activities are planned to be held at the Institute of Architecture and Construction.

As part of the Open International Internet Olympiad in the discipline "Strength of Materials", a video conference will be organized with the participation of representatives of local and foreign universities.

The Olympiad itself will take place on May 20 this year. Students are invited to participate in it, regardless of their specialization at the university and the year of study. Maximum three students from each university can apply as participants. The official languages of the Olympiad are Turkmen, Russian and English. The intellectual review will be held in the form of individual competitions.

Participants will be offered test tasks in the discipline "Strength of Materials" of the cycle of disciplines of mathematics and natural sciences. In particular, students will have to solve 6 problems for which 120 minutes will be allotted. The tasks of the Olympiad will be posted in a special section of the Institute's website on the day of the Olympiad.

Registration for participants is already open on the official website of the host university https://tdbgi.edu.tm/ , Section «Announcements» . Students of the country’s and foreign universities who wish to take part in the Open International Internet Olympiad are welcomed to register until May 10.

Only those to score the highest based on the results of individual competitions will come winners and prize-winners of the competition and will be awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees. Students with a non-standard way of thinking to the tests of the Olympiad will be awarded Special diplomas and valuable prizes.

The organizers expressed confidence that this International Olympiad will contribute to the strengthening of scientific and educational cooperation, the exchange of experience between students and teachers of higher educational institutions from different countries, the identification of talented youth, the improvement of their theoretical knowledge, and the improvement of practical skills.

The Olympiad is also designed to contribute to the implementation of the tasks of the Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan and the improvement of teaching natural and exact sciences in universities.

According to the organizers, the young people has a wide opportunities to use digital information and communication technologies, which contribute to achieve the great effectiveness in the learning process, to involve a large number of students into the subject and project olympiads. Holding such olympiads encourages students to independently think on complex issues, conduct scientific research and experiments using digital technologies, which support to educate high-level specialists.
