For the first time in more than twenty-years of the history of the club, Turkmen mountain climbers mountaineered three mountain peaks of the world during the summer period - Lenin Peak (7134 m, Central Tien Shan), Damavand (5671 m, the Islamic Republic of Iran) and Elbrus (5633 m, the Russian Federation).


One of the first news came about the conquest of one of the world's highest peaks- Lenin peak by Ashgabat sportsmen Alekper Ahmadov. On July 27, the Master of Sports of Turkmenistan as part of an international group that climbed to "seven thousand" hoisted on the peak of the State Flag of Turkmenistan. This is not the first success of an experienced representative of our country. He climbed on Khan Tengri (Tien Shan), a trip to the American continent, where our compatriot has mounteered to the top of the mountain Ankagua, participated in the conquest of peaks of the Caucasus - Elbrus, in the competition held in the Alps.


This year the athlete from Ashgabat has already demonstrated excellent mountain training. He became the winner of almost all cup competitions in the country. Participating in the most difficult disciplines of international competitions, which were held in May on Elbrus, - Vertical Sky Marathon and Mt Elbrus (3700-5642 meters), he entered the top three winners, and in two months later he was one of the conquerors of the "seven thousand" of the ridge of the Tien Shan.


For the first time he has passed the classical route - from the bottom to the top of Elbrus (5633 meters) with no lifts by young athletes - members of "Agama", Karen Bortyakov and Anton Reshetnyak, who have experiences of climbing the mountain peaks of Turkmenistan.

Another group of Ashgabat and Balkanabat climbers’ climbed the highest point of the Islamic Republic of Iran was Damavand volcano. Begench Mammedov and Vitaly Sogdeev from mountaineering club "Mert" by Roman Anoshkin, Euvgeniyi Yarykin and Dmitry Vinokurov, representing the club "Agama". Despite the difficult conditions where it was strong wind and low temperature, were able to reach the top and hoisted on the top the State Flag of Turkmenistan.


Ashgabat club "Agama" prepared more than a dozen athletes - climbers who participated in the most difficult route to the peak of Pamir, Tien Shan, Caucasus and other mountain ridges. Good schools for young explorers have become the winter climbing to the highest point of Koytendag - Ayrybaba. Now the club has over 100 fans of mountain travel aged from 14 to 70 years.


The sports and fitness center "Demiryolchi", the club’s allocation, with the aim to hold sports and public events have built the wall-climbing simulator for training enthusiasts. During school holidays, the training takes place here in a group of children aged 5 to 12 years. The training program is designed for young athletes for several years with a view to participation of Turkmen climbers in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, in which the program included sport climbing with the decisions of 129 session of the IOC Assembly. In the nearest plans of mountaineering club "Agama" is to hold the next stage of the Cup of Turkmenistan on mountaineering (sky running) and mass climb to the top Harlasang in honor of the International Day of Tourism in September of this year.
