Warm and trustful relations between Presidents G. M. Berdimuhamedov and I. A. Karimov allowed bringing Uzbek – Turkmen relations to new heights.

Today, Turkmenistan is one of the most important trade partners of Uzbekistan, the trade with which is characterized by dynamic and sustainable growth. Representing Uzbekistan in independent neutral Turkmenistan, we always feel sincere sympathy and goodwill of our Turkmen friends. I think that it cannot be other way around as Uzbeks and Turkmens are two fraternal nations and two branches of the same tree. It is impossible to separate or single historical past as well as the present and the future.

I am confident that based on community of historical sources, culture, language and traditions, fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will continue to build their future together, strive for new achievements for provision of development and prosperity of our state as well as for strong peace, stability and security in the Central Asian region.
