Mutual interest in establishment of air service was uttered during the meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Jean Asselborn in Ashgabat. In this relation, the Head of Turkmen State mentioned that owing to its favourable geographical position, our country possesses huge transit potential and is able to take considerable part of international cargo traffic. The Agreement on air service between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will promote intensive integration into modern world economic system and activation of trade relations with foreign partners.

From June of 2015, according to relative agreement on air service between Turkmenistan and Luxembourg, “Cargolux” air company made eight flights a week from Luxembourg to Turkmenbashy and from June 1, 2016 the number of flights increased to 10. Recently, the Turkmen capital was also included into flight plan of cargo traffic of this air company.
