The UN model is the role game in which students reproduce the work of United Nations bodies. Its participants are delegates, chairmen, observers and experts who serve as the official representatives of the UN member states and members of international organizations, who came to the conference to discuss the issues on the agenda of their committee. The delegates must be informative, and be able to express position of the represented country in the working language of the committee. The ultimate goal of each committee is to adopt resolutions on the subject.
Representing “the play " of Model, except for the students of the International University of Humanities and Development, it is students of the Institute of the International Relations and the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications who attended the event. Among the invited guests are representatives of international organizations, heads of accredited in our country, and diplomatic missions.
The head of the sub-regional office of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Tiziana Bonapace has read the greetings of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sent to the participants of the 2016 student run model of UN.
During the conference, delegates had the opportunity to act as representatives of the groups of the different regions of the reputable international organizations, the business community, and others. The agenda of the forum included issues on investment in the transport sector and its financing, security, sustainable transport, environmental aspect, etc.
In addition, a meeting of the ad hoc working group on the harmonization of the text of the draft resolution is adopted by the end of the conference.
