The State Medical University hosts a scientific-practical conference "The role of telemedicine in the development of medical education and science." The "MEDET" project progress implemented within the framework of the EU program "Tempus" was considered during the forum.
The project participants have entered its final stage. The Turkmen side consists of Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Ministry of Education, Turkmen State Medical University, State Institute of Transport and Communications, Turkmen National Institute of the World Languages named after Azadi and the Turkmen State Institute of Culture. Overseas partners are experts from Spain, Germany and Poland.
The conference work is organized in the format of thematic sessions. The Medical University is organized the work of sections "Telemedicine and innovative technologies in education" and "Telemedicine in medical practice." The work of the third section - "Telecommunication aspects of telemedicine" takes place on the basis the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications.
The forum reviewed the role of new technologies in improving the quality of education and modern teaching methods and enhancing its qualifications.
Breakout sessions include a kind of a discussion platform for exchanging experiences in the field of telemedicine in the example of the countries participating in the conference.
With the help of videoconferences interconnected with Turkmen Medical State University with Institute of Transport and Communication and with the Hospital of the Clinical Research Center of Cardiology are being demonstrated a wide telemedicine, which has been widely developed in the age of high technology.
In the context of the analysis of the implemented work it is considered the issues of introduction into the curriculum of doctors training and communication workers of new disciplines: "telemedicine" - in Turkmen State Medical University and "telemedicine network" - in Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communication. Telemedicine has enriched the educational process: on a regular basis it is undergoing the connection between the theoretical professionals and practical professionals of the departments of clinical sites.
At present, it is reviewed the possibilities of using distance learning at the faculty of postgraduate education and advanced training of doctors.
