During the extended Cabinet meeting held on July 8, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, focusing on the good news that the “Declaration of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States and Russia” following the results of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States and Russia held in Ashgabat in May of this year, was recognized as a document of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, noted that this fact is a recognition by the Community of Nations of the constructiveness of our country’s foreign policy and initiatives, another evidence of the growing authority of the Motherland on the world stage, as well as a joyful event for all Turkmen citizens.

In this context, it should be noted that on June 7, our country was unanimously elected as a Vice-Chairman of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The Sixth Caspian Summit held in Ashgabat on June 29 under the chairmanship of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the participation of the Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation was one of the striking examples of the successful implementation of the foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan.

Consistent steps are also being taken to increase the foreign economic relations of our Motherland. On February 23, 2022, at the regular meeting of the General Council of the World Trade Organization held in Geneva (Swiss Confederation), Turkmenistan was granted the status of an acceding country (“active observer”) to the WTO.

In addition, on March 15 of this year, Turkmenistan was elected as a member of the UN Commission on International Trade Law for the period 2022-2028.

At the above-mentioned meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing that by implementing a peaceful, creative foreign policy strategy, our neutral Motherland will continue to expand diverse cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats, signed a resolution approving the Concept of the Foreign Policy Course of Neutral Turkmenistan for 2022-2028.

The further expansion of contacts with UNESCO will be of particular importance in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, in the popularization of the spiritual and historical heritage of our people.

Strengthening fruitful partnership and trusting relations with neighboring countries in the region is also identified as a priority vector.

Confirming our country’s commitment to constructive cooperation in interstate and multilateral formats, the head of state also underlined the need to take further steps to promote Turkmenistan’s environmental initiatives and develop effective cooperation in this area.

Speaking about the importance of this Concept, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that it outlines the main strategic directions, new tasks and approaches to the implementation of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy course for the next seven years.
