In the nursery of the Kopetdag State Nature Reserve of the State Committee for Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan on Environment and Land Resources is growing posterity of "Red Book" ungulates. It contains gazelle, screw-horned goat (markhor), bezoar goat, mountain sheep (argali). Cubs were born in spring almost all ungulates. Now they are grown up and are trying to be like their parents. The family of peace-loving and "intelligent" gazelles divides aviary with other species of animals - the inhabitants of the wildlife of the Karakum desert and the foothills of Kopet Dag: hare Tolan, a pair of pheasants and partridges of two kinds.

Feeding of nursery dwellers occurs once a day, twice – it has twice checked out a visual inspection of their condition, if required - with a veterinarian. The main diet - the usual for animal feed - hay of various herbs, and preferences are taken into account as an endemic Koytendag Markhor, Kopet Dagh and bezoar goat. For ungulates within the territory of reserve it is grown additional forage - there are plots with clover, corn.

The purpose of the nursery aimed at the preservation of endangered species, as well as the care of those species that for various reasons come to man – the abundant from young relatives or wounded creatures. They are not to be returned to the wild nature, but can give posterity which, if necessary, can be moved to their ancestral habitats, or to make breeding material to cross-breeding in captivity or in the wild. Such measures long and successful practice between nurseries reserves. As far as the avifauna, the birds are used to improve the biodiversity of natural objects of foothills mastered by small animals. It is getting enriched biodiversity of man-made forests and natural oasis, where you can find pheasants and partridge. For example, in 2009, environmentalists have released argali and gazelles in the territory of the Turkmen capital, bordering on the cable car route. And now the visitors can observe small groups of ungulates, settled in a new place.

The territory of the estate is used rationally - in Bosquet grown seedlings of local and exotic, a "Red Book" medicinal plant species. Thus, in accordance with the National Forest Programme of Turkmenistan it is carried out work to fill in the nature of juniper, maple Turkmen, Caucasian nettlewood, Griffith redbud, walnut, eastern oleaster with its further planting in areas of natural habitat, recreational places. The seedlings are being cared by daily laborious maintenance: weeding, watering, organic fertilizing. In the shade of mature trees it is hidden tender sprouts moisture-loving species - seedlings of rare hardwood ash, pistachio, oak, acacia. Seeds are about twenty species of wild flora are cultivated in an ecologically clean areas within reserves. A special concern of ecologists is surrounded germinated from mature cones of two-year seedlings of juniper. Juniper grows very slowly - the height of a four-year plant is five centimeters, at the beginning it requires a lot of attention. It is growing adults juniper trees here - slender, with smooth vertical shafts, spreading crown.

The staff of reserve is paid much attention to environmental education of the younger generation. Therefore, the environmental campaigns and awareness raising activities are organized. In the reserve it is working the Museum of Nature, representing the three varieties of ecosystems - mountain, desert and wetland. Museum and nursery often visited by pupils and students, specialists in the field of environmental protection, foreign guests.
