International Exhibition “Tourism and Travels” and conference for development of cooperation in this sphere started work in National tourist zone “Avaza”.
Meeting of professionals of the industry, which was traditionally organized at the Caspian Coast, was timed to International Tourism Day that observed in 2016 under “Tourism for everybody is encouragement of general availability” slogan.
In this day, the UN World Tourist Organization (UNWTO) calls everyone to pay attention at the importance and benefits of available tourism for the society, its social, cultural and economic significance in achievements of the Goals of Sustainable Development and overcoming of topical issues of today. This subject was reflected in the agenda of the forum, which gathered 22 countries like Russia, China, USA, Poland, Belgium, Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Iran, India, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and others.
Musical and ethnographic performance, turned into bright presentation of Turkmenistan, its national cultural heritage and traditions, decorated ceremonial opening of the exhibition enveloped at “Seyrana” hotel.
Representative composition of the forum, organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism, the Trade and Industrial Chamber and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, speaks of keen interest to Turkmenistan of foreign investors, market experts and large companies specialized in different spheres of economy. They are heads and leading specialists of national tourist agencies, profile governmental departments, organizations and companies involved in recreation and sanatorium sphere and travelling industry, hotel and insurance business as well as lecturers of high educational institutions.
The show, united 86 exhibitors, demonstrate huge perspectives of development of international cooperation based on opportunities of tourist complex in Turkmenistan. The exhibition, which became visual demonstration of resources for cooperation and new proposals, presents departments of the State Committee for Tourism and private enterprises of our country, their foreign partners and companies willing to take part in realization of joint projects.
The exhibition allows familiarising with unique tourist opportunities of Turkmenistan and the regions of the country, to receive actual information on new tendencies in travel and hospitality industry, organization of different types of rest activities as well as on cultural educational and informative activity.
The opening of the conference was held in the afternoon. Turkmen representatives made speech during plenary session, introducing to the participants the strategy and priorities of innovative development of tourist complex elaborated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, its foundation presented by the richest variety of cultural and natural heritage.
Foreign participants of the congress touched on wide spectrum of topics in their speeches, from interrelation under the World Tourist Organization to cooperation in professional education. It was mentioned that as for today, the tourism became one of the profitable branches of economy. According to the data of the UNWTO, revenue of the world tourism, received from stay of travellers in foreign countries, has grown for 3.6 per cent, which made more than 1.2 billion of dollars and accounting transportation service, this figure is 1.4 trillion dollars. The world tourist flow beat the record and reached 1.18 billion of travellers in the last year, what exceeds the same indices of the last year for 4.4 per cent (almost 50 million people).
Tourism industry presents considerable part of global economy occupying the 3rd line in the list of the world export. At the same time, the tourism for already several years remains most growing branch of the world export. Average revenue of tourism industry including transportation expenses makes 4 billion dollars per day. Regarding the geography, the most significant growth is observed and expected in Asia and Asian Pacific region in the future.
Share of the visions allowed to imagine different approaches to development of this sector as well as to demonstrate the practices of successful companies in the industry and to review most remarkable samples of cooperation of Turkmenistan with foreign partners in this direction.
On the next day, the conference will continue its work by sections. One of them, “Historical and Cultural heritage of Turkmenistan” will be held at “Seyrana” Hotel. Another one, “Education and Economic Innovations in Tourism” will take place in “Hazar” hotel. “Bagtiyar” hotel will host the section “Issues of Development of Ecological Tourism”.
