Forum on Avaza urged the world community to double investments in the transport of developing countries

The international conference at the level of ministers of transport of developing countries that do not have access to the sea called on the world community to double the annual investment in the development of the transport infrastructure of these states.

This is stated in the final statement of the conference held in the Avaza national tourist zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

The document notes that the international community should strive to at least double the annual investment in infrastructure development in landlocked countries from all financial sources, national and international development banks, etc. to fill the infrastructure gap and missing links.

The Forum called on multilateral financial and development institutions, as well as regional development banks, to set up targeted infrastructure financing for the above countries and provide them with special means of access to allocate resources for infrastructure development and maintenance.

“The international community should provide financial and technical support to landlocked countries in the development of eligible banking projects as well as specific projects, especially in relation to the preparation of feasibility studies, complex contract negotiations and management projects,” emphasizes the Final Transport Forum statement.
