The Turkmen side was represented by representatives of ministries and departments, state concerns, associations, committees, banks, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Academy of Sciences, number of universities and other.
Participation of President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who was on the working visit to Turkmenistan, added special status to the business forum, which is summoned to define main directions of mutually beneficial partnership in near- and long-term prospects.
Speaking to the participants, Rustam Minnikhanov stated with delight constructive and fruitful character of relations between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan, which successfully develops under interstate dialog with Russian Federation.
The guest said that Turkmenistan has always been strategy partner of Tatarstan, our peoples are united by many things including spiritual and cultural similarity, deep historical ties, which being filled with new content today resting on developed considerable experience of cooperation.

Today, Tatarstan actively develops innovative sphere and establishes infrastructure for investors being on the top of Russian national rating of investment climate, Rustam Minnikhanov said, having emphasized the importance of special economic zones established in the Republic, industrial and technical fleets, engineering and research centres, work for development of nano- and information technologies, production of composite materials and robotics, measures for establishment of interregional logistic centres, etc. Generally, all of these open large opportunities for mutually beneficial international partnership.
Having touched the subject of cooperation in sport sphere, President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Kazan successfully hosted the World Summer Universiade three years ago, world and European championship in different sports are regularly held. In this year, the capital of Tatarstan welcomes large football competitions and of course, active preparation for forthcoming football cup in 2018 is carried out. Speaking of this, the Head of Tatarstan highlighted the willingness to render all necessary support to Turkmenistan and share its practices for upcoming Asian Games – 2017 in Ashgabat.

As a result of complex measures, production of industrial goods and foreign trade turnover are being invariably increased, stability of prices for goods and services on internal market is being observed, volumes of capital investment to social sphere grow.
It was highlighted that wide prospects for cooperation are opened with account of complex programmes expanded in our country, which are oriented at diversification of economy, industrialization of the regions, increase of production volumes of import substitutive and export goods including for efficient use of existing hydrocarbon and mineral resources, implementation of high technologies, establishment of modern scientific-based enterprises. In this aspect, there is great potential for bilateral partnership in almost all spheres including machine building, fuel and energy complex, oil refinery and petrochemical industry.
Agricultural complex was called among priority spheres of cooperation. Transformations, undertaken in this direction, stipulate improvement of relevant production infrastructure, establishment of food abundance, saturation of consumer market with various high quality food products of domestic origin. At the same time, great attention is paid to full involvement of the potential of private sector.
During the forum, videos about economics of Turkmenistan and Republic of Tatarstan, opening opportunities for long-term cooperation accounting modern realities and perspectives and meeting mutual interests, were demonstrated.
The guests confirmed in their speeches the endeavour of business circles of Tatarstan to intensification of productive relations with Turkmenistan, which demonstrates rapid rates of economic development today. Having declared on the willingness to take an active part in realization of large-scale national projects, the businessmen gave specific proposals for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres.
Construction and production of building materials, energy, transport, textile industry, food industry, agriculture, improvement of bilateral business and entrepreneurship contacts were defined in the range of actual directions. In this context, further promotion and increase of variety of production of Turkmen and Tatar manufacturers on markets of both countries was discussed.
Highlighting the importance of further stimulation of cooperation in humanitarian sphere, the participants of the meeting spoke for expansion of fruitful relations between the Academies of the Sciences of Turkmenistan and Republic of Tatarstan in high professional education and training of qualified personnel. At the end of plenary part of the forum, signing ceremony of “Programme of Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) in trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres for 2017 – 2019” and Memorandum on scientific and technical cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Academy of Sciences of Republic of Tatarstan was held.
