Delegates from all part of the planet, representatives from 16 states of the world including from Russia, the Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan took part in the work of the forum convened by the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who at the same time is the President of this competent international organization.
The conference of the HATW is indicative event as expansion of multidimensional relations with our compatriots overseas is one of important directions of constructive foreign policy course of independent neutral Turkmenistan, which is based on the principles of good neighbourhood, friendship, broad international cooperation.
At present, 27 branches of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World operates in 14 countries. There are more than 300 team and 100 individual members in the composition of the Association including 400 from foreign states. Recently, content and directions of activities of the HATW together with foreign compatriots have been diversified. Contacts in science and education, culture and arts, entrepreneurship have been activated. The Association plays special role in development of cooperation of our country with other states, in propaganda of peace-loving and progressive policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, its high achievements during new historical age, popularization of culture, traditions and customs of our people, study its history and language around the world. Foreign branches of the HATW conduct different events, which promote consolidation of compatriots, spiritual unification of the nation and preservation of original cultural heritage. They are very urgent especially in this year, which is announced as a Year of Honour of Heritage and Transformation of the Motherland.
Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays utmost attention to expansion of versatile relations with Turkmens of the world. During foreign visits, the Leader of the Nation always finds opportunity to meet the compatriots and render his attention and support to them. All positive initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, his policy of peace and good neighbourhood met understanding of the compatriots who live in different countries, serve to consolidation and further development of friendly relations with states and people.
Beginning XIX Conference of the HATW, its participants have laid flowers to the Monument of the Independence. After, ceremonial opening of the forum took place in the conference hall of the capital Mekan Palace. Members of the Government, Mejlis deputies, Ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, leaders and representatives of political parties and non-government organizations, number of institutes of the Academy of Sciences, branch ministry and departments, universities of the capital, who are collaborated members of the HATW, individual members of the Association from all velayats, scientific and cultural individuals, honoured elders, mass media representatives and students took part in the forum.
Majestic sounds of National anthem song announce on the opening of ceremonial part of the forum. The participants of the conference have listened with deep attention and enthusiasm the Message of President of Turkmenistan, President of the Humanitarian Organization of Turkmens of the World Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In his message, the Leader of the Nation congratulated the participants on the anniversary of the Independence and start of the forum timed to the Holiday.
During the conference, report on work, undertaken by the HATW, was given; subjects of further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation of Turkmens of the world in accordance with humane principles of internal and foreign policy taken by the Leader of the Nation were discussed.
In his speeches, the leaders and representatives of Turkmen diasporas from Sweden, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan informed on activity of foreign branches of the HATW, having highlighted that they are proud of grandiose transformations, which undergo in the land of the ancestors.
The participants of the forum expressed their gratitude to Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for transformational policy, international initiatives aiming at peace, prosperity and progress as well as attention and paternal care of all foreign compatriots. As examples of successful implementation of policy of good neighbourhood and humanity by Turkmenistan, the delegates mentioned assistance and support in social and economic revival of Afghanistan, particularly, in electrification of its regions, construction of maternity hospital in Turgundy settlement of Herat province, training of personnel, etc.
Speakers emphasized the importance of large projects in fuel and energy and transport spheres initiated by the Leader of the Nation and promoting further development of successful international cooperation.
After, by the request of the Head of the State, presentation ceremony of award of the representatives of Turkmen diasporas, who were awarded by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan with anniversary medal «Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 25 ýyllygyna» for considerable contribution in development of friendly and fraternal cultural and humanitarian relations between Turkmen and other people, active and fruitful public activity, has been held.
During the conference, especially distinguished members of the HATW were awarded with certificates of honour. “Wherever we live, we always feel our relations to the Motherland, we are proud of great deeds conducted under the leadership of the Head of the State in Turkmenistan”, - they highlighted in their speeches.
Exhibitions demonstrating history, traditions and customs of Turkmen people, its original art were expanded in the foyer of the Mekan palace and in front of the conference hall. The exposition presented museum items like national dresses and musical instruments, beautiful works of jewellers including those for decoration of horses, carpets and tapestries, works of visual arts.
XVI – XVIII centuries manuscripts as well as copies of works of scientists, philosophers and poets of the past, which are unique exhibits of the National Museum of Manuscripts, arose great interest of the participants and guests of the conference.
Dance and music bands of the capital also prepared holiday greetings for the participants.
