The international seminar on the organization and implementation of various tournaments in ice hockey and the work of the board of referees in Malaysia in the city of Kuala-Lumpur. The training sessions are attended by two Turkmen specialists in this kind of sport – Allaberdi Mammetkuliev and Mammed Mammedov, who successfully pass the exams, and are awarded certificates of the II level of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
The workshop was attended by about 100 sports organizers, coaches and referees from 27 Asia and Oceania is China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Mongolia, Indonesia, etc. To conduct the educational process it was invited representative of the UK Ice Hockey Federation - Joy Johnson. The participants complete a course of theoretical and practical training in which our countrymen have successfully coped with all set test tasks and objectives.
A. Mammetkuliev is the head of the International Department of the National Center for winter sports, and M. Mammedov is the Chairman of "Oguzhan" hockey club and a representative of the coaches of the men's team of Turkmenistan. These certificates are entitled to carry out coaching and referee seminars in our country as well as maintenance and inspection of all tournaments at the national level.
The closest event is the fourth championship of Turkmenistan on hockey of the 2016-2017 years season which starts on November 22 where eight teams will compete for medals. "Galkan" club was leading in previous competitions.
Major international competitions for our athletes in this kind of sport will be held in February. The VIII Winter Asia Games will be held in the city of Sapporo (Japan), where our team will come on ice hockey for the first time. The national team is formed of the four best clubs in the capital - "Galkan", "Shir", "Oguzkhan", "Nesil" and now they are training hard in accordance with the European methods.
On the eve of the Asian Games, the Turkmen hokey players take part in the training camp on one of the best ice rinks - "Chijovka Arena" in Minsk (Belarus), where the medals in the men's part of the World Cup, and the current spring in 2014 -world juniors championship.
In addition, our team will perform in the draw of "Challenge Cup", which will be held under the patronage of the International Ice Hockey Federation in Kuwait in April 2017. It is known that the competitors of Turkmen athletes will be the Chinese, the Philippines, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, India team.
As stated, currently the Chairman of the National Center for winter sports Agajan Hudayberdiyev on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is holding negotiations with hockey organizations in Canada and Sweden aimed at inviting an experience mentor to our country. In addition, we are working on the formation of the youth national team of Turkmenistan (under age 20) to participate in a major international tournament, scheduled to be held in the next year.
Special attention is paid to attract players to the ranks of the young generation athletes. So, the national championship among juniors up to 16 years will be organized in mid-December in Ashgabat. In the near future it will be held the first enrollment to section of winter kinds of sports in the National Tourist Zone "Avaza", where it is currently undergoing the construction of modern ice arena, one of the favorite places of active recreation for many tourists and local followers of a healthy lifestyle.
