The forum initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany and the Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Grosshadern clinic of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
The delegation including representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany, experts of leading companies as well as world-known scientists and professors representing the leading clinics in Germany arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the forum.
The heads and specialists of the government institutions and scientific and clinical centres, sanatoriums, as well as teachers of the Turkmen State Medical University represented Turkmenistan at the forum.
Greeting the forum participants, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Turkmenistan Margret Maria Uebber highly evaluated the prospects of further enhancement of the interstate dialogue given the policy of Turkmenistan aimed at the comprehensive development of the national health care system. The Ambassador noted that cooperation on sharing experience and training highly-qualified specialists had significantly contributed to solving global tasks on public health.
It was noted that regular meetings of Turkmen and German doctors, scientists and specialists of the health care system promoted to widening the long-term efficient partnership.
The scientific health forum, which is regularly organized in our country, testifies to the importance of this sphere in the development of modern Turkmenistan. “The health of the nation is the main wealth of the country, the basis of its prosperity”, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov says putting particular emphasis into these words as the leader of the Turkmen state considers the physical and spiritual health of people as the strategic category, the first factor of social wellbeing. This comprehensive system includes a number of critical factors: construction of modern medical centres and sanatoriums supplied with the most advanced equipment, nature protection, popularization of sports movement and outdoor activities as well as healthy life style among the citizens of the country.
The forum participants exchanged their views on the achievements in various health care spheres, in particular research and efficient methods of treating diabetes, cancerous diseases and the development in the spheres of endocrinology and physiotherapy.
The major part of the reports was dedicated to the specific achievements in implementation of the state policy pursued by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the health care system that guarantees strengthening the material and technical base of the sphere, improving the level of medical services and putting new pharmaceutical enterprises into operation.
Those speaking during the forum noted that the health care system in Turkmenistan adopted innovative treatment methods, technologies and equipment. Modern clinical research centres, medical and preventive treatment facilities supplied with the modern advanced equipment, the significant part of which is manufactured in Germany, are built the country.
Speaking about the aspiration for enhancing and widening the spectrum of long-term cooperation, the foreign guests noted that Germany, one of the world leaders in the sphere of advanced technologies, was ready to offer its experience, scientific and production development that is of particular importance in the context of modernization of the health care system of Turkmenistan and its transition to the way of innovations.
