For the first time in the history of Turkmen tennis our sportsmen have reached the play-off of the Davis Cup in the IV group of Asia and Oceania Zone, in Doha, Qatar. Turkmen tennis players achieved this success defeating Bahrain, Iraq and Saudi Arabia – 3-0.

Ten teams divided into two groups competed for the quotas to the III group of the Asia and Oceania Zone.

Turkmenistan leads in Group A. Tennis players of the United Arab Emirates pretend to the second place in play-off. The matches between Turkmenistan and the UAE will be played in the final day in Group A.
