Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Grigory Karasin presented the Concept of the presidency of Russian Federation in the CIS during his visit to Turkmenistan. Heads of diplomatic missions as well as representatives of international new agencies and mass media of our country took part in the meeting, held in diplomatic mission of Russian Federation.
Having noted the importance of the Commonwealth as a competent international organization and its key role in the system of multi format relations, the diplomat highlighted that the presidency of Russia in the CIS would be implemented on the principles of the succession and in accordance with mutually accepted legal framework. During the presentation, the Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation stressed the attention on priority objectives and tasks of the presidency of Russian in the CIS. There are activation of coordinating role of the CIS as interstate organization and improvement of its authority in the world political arena, increase of efficiency of work of structures and departments of the Commonwealth, support of integration processes and international cooperation in different spheres.
The plan, including 54 measures, which are aimed at full-scale cooperation of the CIS counties, was developed for realization of this concept.
The concept of the presidency of Russian Federation in the CIS in 2017, which starts from January 1 of the next year, and Action Plan for its realization was approved by President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
