Turkmenistan's GDP growth for the first quarter of 2023 amounted to 6.2%

The growth of the gross domestic product of Turkmenistan for the first three months of 2023 amounted to 6.2%. This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the government of the country via video link, dedicated to the results of the socio-economic development of the state for the first quarter of 2023.

At the meeting, it was noted that in general, the volume of manufactured products increased by 6% compared to the same period in 2022.

It was also emphasized that in January-March this year, the retail trade turnover increased by 9.5% compared to the corresponding period last year, and foreign trade turnover - by 8.4%.

At a government meeting, data on the fuel and energy complex, the basic sector of the country's economy, were announced.

Thus, during the reporting period, the plan for oil production was fulfilled by 101.9%, oil refining - by 103.6%, gasoline production - by 104.5%, diesel fuel - by 108.6% and polypropylene - by 104.5%. Also, it was emphasized that the plan for the production of natural and associated gas was fulfilled by 104.5%, and the export of "blue fuel" - by 102.8%.
