Today, at the «Yyldyz» Hotel in the capital of Turkmenistan, the British Embassy in Ashgabat held a solemn reception on the occasion of the coronation of the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Charles III and his wife the Queen Consort.

The meeting was attended by heads and employees of foreign embassies and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, environmental activists, journalists, British citizens, employees of companies operating in Turkmenistan.

Deputy Head of Mission of the British Embassy in Turkmenistan John Hamilton and Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Serdar Jorayev spoke at the reception.

In his speech, the British diplomat noted that the current coronation is a historic event that last took place 70 years ago. John Hamilton thanked the guests for accepting the invitation of the British Embassy and taking part in the reception, sharing the joy of the British people.

In turn, the representative of Turkmenistan emphasized that the significant potential of the Turkmen-British cooperation, noting that last year the countries celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Serdar Jorayev congratulated the British partners on the significant event, which is the coronation of Charles III.

Then the reception participants watched a video about the features of the British coronation ceremony, symbols of royal power and a live broadcast from London of the coronation of Charles III.
As previously reported, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the coronation ceremony of the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Charles III. The participation of the head of the Turkmen state in the coronation celebrations was another clear evidence of the progressively developing friendly and mutually respectful relations between Ashgabat and London.
