The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking online at the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said that Turkmenistan is firmly committed to the course of full-scale cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Head of State noted that Turkmenistan considers relations with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in a strategic way, and this approach is justified historically, by age-old spiritual and cultural ties that forge relations between our peoples and states. 

"This creates additional incentives and prospects for long-term partnership between our country and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on regional and international agendas, within various multilateral institutions and supporting international organizations, primarily the UN," said the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State also stressed that Ashgabat highly appreciates the achieved level of mutual understanding, respect, trust and openness, clearly sees the prospects and mutual benefits of cooperation, its compliance with the fundamental, genuine interests of the peoples of Turkmenistan and the SCO countries.

"We are ready for further constructive joint work," said the President of Turkmenistan.
