Turkmenistan intensifies international tourism cooperation

The draft "Program for the development of international cooperation of Turkmenistan in the tourism industry for 2024-2025" was proposed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held on Friday. It will be aimed at intensifying cooperation with international tourism organizations, exchanging experience with foreign partners, holding joint events.

As it was noted at the meeting, Turkmenistan with its rich historical and cultural heritage and natural attractions has great potential for the development of various types of tourism - from historical and ethnographic to adventure and health tourism. Cruise tourism will also become a new direction for the development of Turkmenistan's international cooperation in this sphere.

The launch of cruises on the Caspian Sea, in which tourists will be able to visit Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Iran, was announced at the Sixth Caspian Summit, held a year ago in Ashgabat.

Sea cruises on the Caspian Sea will contribute to the development of regional tourism - not only beach recreation, but also cultural, educational and ethnographic tourism. The projected growth of tourist flows between Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan and the Caspian regions of Russia may lead to the fact that the Caspian coast will be able to receive at least one million travelers a year.

The Avaza National Tourist Zone, created in the Turkmen land with the most modern infrastructure of recreation and entertainment, can offer them luxury hotels and health centers, restaurants of world and local cuisine, sports facilities and parks, opportunities for riding scooters, yachts, water skiing, surfing and diving.
