Developing the Turkmen-Indian humanitarian cooperation

The students’ contest dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of India took place at Dovletmammed Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan, who was the jury of the contest, were invited to the cultural event organized in the form of the Festival of the Hindi Language.

According to the teachers of D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages the programme on popularization of the Hindi language was developed recently with assistance of Indian professors.

Within the framework of the contest, Turkmen students presented the song and dance compositions, theatrical fragment of the Leyli-Medjnun opera, poems by famous Indian pets of the past and modern time. The contesters also recited the “Hindistan” poem by Turkmen poet Gara Seytliev, which was translated into Hindi by the students of the institute.

In conclusion of the cultural event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan Sunil Jain highly appreciated the level of the Turkmen-Indian relations. The diplomat underlined that such events contributed to strengthening the friendly relations of Turkmenistan and India that demonstrated the mutual interest in the culture and national traditions of each other.

Valuable presents were awarded to the students winning the first places in the contest.

Organization of cultural events in the institute has become a good tradition as they help students to master foreign languages and perceive the culture of the peoples of various countries.
