XXI Belarus International A category Open Sambo Tournament for the prizes of President Alexander Lukashenko started at The Sport Palace of Belarus capital. More than 200 hundred sportsmen from 16 countries like Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Israel, Slovakia, Ukraine and other participate in the competitions. There are 26 athletes (18 man and 8 women) including the winners of international competitions in our national team.
14 sets of prizes were contested in the first day of the tournament where Turkmenistan team won seven medal – four gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
Before the tournament, our sambo wrestlers under the guidance of Muhammed and Nuryagdy Mammedov brothers (classic style) as well as Master of Sports of International Class Alayi Niyazmengliyeva (combat version) had 10-day training camp in “Stayki” Olympic Complex in 10 km from Minsk.
Besides the active training process, friendly fights with leading Belarusian sambo wrestlers were held. By the opinion of the Head of our National Team Anageldy Sarykulov, all of these helped successful start of our sportsmen.
