The Fifth International Taekwondo WTF Tournament «Fujairah Open» is completed. Our sportsmen won three medals there – one silver and two bronze.
More than 500 fighters from 15 countries took part in the competitions. Mekan Gurbanov contesting in up to 59 kg weight category became the Vice-champion of the tournament. Batyr Chariyev and Jelaletdin Batyrov, both up to 68 kg, won the bronze.
WTF Taekwondo version is included in the programme of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat Olympic Village in September of this year. The competitions in Fujairah were an important stage of training for our team for coming continental level competitions.
