The final stages of the state contests "Student of the Year" and "Teacher of the Year" took place at the end of the academic year in Ashgabat under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Participants of the final round are winners of university contests.
The student’s contest is to motivate young people to gain knowledge, develop personally and professionally. A competition among teachers is the presentation of innovative teaching methods. They compete for the title, getting the professional certification. Different indicators are taken into account: the level of preparation of students to subject Olympiads, the relevance of scientific work, publications, open classes.
The prestigious title "2017 Best Teacher" was awarded to Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Narhal Achilova from S.Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat. Narhal Kurbanovna works as a senior teacher of the Department of Teaching Methods in Primary Schools and Pre-school Institutions of S.Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.
The title "2017 Best Student" was awarded to a fourth-year student of the Public Health faculty of the State Medical University Agageldy Meredov. He was born and received secondary education in the city of Iolotan in Mary Velayat.
Agageldy is the winner of a number of international open online Olympiads. Last year he became a laureate of the Magtymguli Youth Prize and the winner of the interuniversity contest, taking first place in swimming competitions. A talented and motivated student is an active participant in the University Volunteer Center.
The winner of the Grand Prix demonstrated high results in the contest, showing good knowledge of the national and English languages, a number of other high school disciplines, excellent knowledge of information technologies and creativity.
Among the winners of the contest are the fifth-year student of the D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages are Nepesguly Amannepesov (first place), the fourth-year student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Akmuhammet Yusubov (second place) and the third-year student of the Turkmen State Financial Institute Rovshen Dovranov (third place).
