The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts a round-table meeting dedicated to the 2017 Asian Games

The meeting was organized by the university administration as well as the State Committees for Sports, TV and Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

The meeting brought together the members of the Centre of Volunteers of the university, which is headed by Osman Hemzyaev as well as teachers of the Department of World Languages. Specialist of the International Department of the State Committee for Sports Yalkapberdy Ashirmuradov made a presentation on the large sports events, where our compatriots won the first places.


The foreign guests – tennis and free-style wrestling coaches Sebastien Mathieu (France) and Seyed Morad Mohammadi (Iran), who train Turkmen athletes for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, attended the meeting. The guests shared their impressions on the development of sports in Turkmenistan, underlining that they were impressed with the ambitious preparatory work for the Asian Games, functionality and technological infrastructure of the Olympic Village facilities.


The first-year-students of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Orazmyrat Chariyev and Goshaniyaz Durdiyev, who practice Taekwondo and won awards of the international tournaments in Uzbekistan, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, took part in the round-table meeting.

During the meeting, the students of the Institute of International Relations shared their vision on the aspects of the development of sports diplomacy, and gathered useful information for voluntary work at the 2017Asian Games and future international sports events.
