The eighth day of the spring racing season revealed the names of new favourites of these fascinating competitions, including two-year-old Ahalteke horses participating in the racing for the first time as well as famous horses that gladdened the fans with new records.
The competitions for the prizes established in honour of famous Ahalteke horses took place at the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex. Thus, eight four-year-old and elder Ahalteke horses competed in the 2400 meter races for the Garader Prize. In due time, Garader, descendant in Kir-Sakar’s line could won the tenfold victory within a racing season in Krasnodar (Russia) and got the nickname “Invincible”. Garazat ranked the first (2 minutes 47.7 sec) and won the prize.
Eleven three-year-old horses competed acutely in the 1800 meter races for the Melegush Prize established in honour of this glorious Ahalteke horse, a founder of one of the legendary lines. Shohrat was the best in this round running the distance in 2 minutes 05.4 seconds.
