The children’s rocky festival was held on the artificial rocky ground at the sport and health complex “Demiryolchi”. The competitions were organized by the “Agama” alpinist club and Turkmenistan’s State Committee for sports and tourism.
The artificial rocky wall with special hooks has been fitted for climbing of children of different ages, height and physical possibilities. The striving to test on artificial rocks, raise their physical shape and level of mastery unite these children. The point is not to win. Those who wish: children, juniors, boys and girls from 6 to 18 years old were allowed taking part in the festival. Even adults were let climb on routes of any complicacy.
There is reliable safety equipment. It is possible to change the hooks and place them as you like. Moreover, the organizers of the competitions envisaged eight different routes according to the level of complicity, taking into account that a large group of children from 7 up to 12 years old took part in the contest. Most of them successfully overcame the vertical.
Under applauses of the participants, the young but already experienced sportsmen of the “Agama” club demonstrated the skill and technique of passing the route on the wall with unfavorable inclination.
For children climbing is one of the most natural and attractive processes. Many of children climb trees and jump over fences with great pleasure. The organizers of this wonderful sport festival offered the children and their parents “to legalize” this passion. It is realized on the vertical wall but under control of adults and with reliable safety equipment. No child or parent refused this opportunity. Upon completion of the competitions, all participants of the festival received the letters of commendation of Turkmenistan’s State Committee for sports and tourism and the “Agama” alpinist club and winners – prizes.
