The State Flag of Turkmenistan Raised on the Summit of Annapurna

In honor of the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan, employees of the “Morinzhgeologiya” Group of Service Enterprises climbed one of the most inaccessible peaks on the planet — the Nepalese eight-thousander Annapurna (8,091 m).

At the summit, the climbers unfurled the sacred green banner of the Turkmen state flag — a symbol of enduring statehood, triumph of willpower, and the unity of the people.

Located in central Nepal, Annapurna ranks as the world’s tenth-highest peak and entered history as the first eight-thousander ever conquered by humans in 1950. Due to extremely difficult weather conditions and a high risk of avalanches, the massif is considered one of the most dangerous and challenging mountains to climb.

The mountain region includes 16 peaks over six thousand meters and borders the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge on Earth, creating a unique yet extremely hazardous landscape.

The Annapurna expedition has added another achievement to the impressive record of the professional team from the “Morinzhgeologiya” Group of Service Enterprises. Previously, the group’s experienced climbers successfully conquered such iconic peaks as Mount Everest, K2 (Chhogori), Manaslu, Aconcagua, Ama Dablam, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Ararat, Mont Blanc, and Matterhorn.

Following an established tradition, the State Flag of Turkmenistan has been raised at each of these remote and hard-to-reach locations around the world.

The “Morinzhgeologiya” Group of Service Enterprises makes a significant contribution to the development of the country’s energy sector. The company is actively operating in Turkmenistan, carrying out comprehensive geophysical and engineering-geological surveys in the Cheleken area under a long-term contract with Dragon Oil (Turkmenistan) Ltd. (UAE). The holding company also successfully cooperates with the Malaysian company Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd in the Contract Territory “Block-I” in full compliance with the Law of Turkmenistan “On Hydrocarbon Resources” and the Production Sharing Agreement.

Possessing extensive expertise in the development of the Caspian shelf, the “Morinzhgeologiya” Group of Service Enterprises serves as a reliable partner for leading international energy corporations, including Russia’s PJSC “Lukoil,” Kazakhstan’s NC “KazMunayGas” JSC, Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, and other global industry leaders. This new professional achievement in the mountains of Nepal once again highlights the company’s determination to conquer the most ambitious heights — both in sports and in its professional activities.
