The national equestrian games group «Galkynyş», founded on the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, participated in the 8th International ethnosport and culture festival held in Istanbul, Türkiye. According to the relevant document signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and in keeping with the 2026 motto, this was another demonstration of the active participation of Turkmen horsemen in international horse breeding and equestrian events held in our country and abroad. Organised by the World ethnosport confederation, the festival brought together numerous representatives from around the world.
The participation of the national equestrian games group «Galkynyş» in this prestigious competition enriched the annals of events of the year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of the purposeful winged horses». As is well known, the members of Group, actively participating in prestigious international festivals and competitions, have won high awards and prizes, enhancing the fame of the legendary Ahal-teke horses on the world stage.
During the festival, groups from various countries presented their national cultural traditions, equestrian games, and traditional sports. The performance by the «Galkynyş» group made a particularly strong impression on the audience. With their captivating program and traditional costumes, the Turkmen horsemen added a uniquely vibrant atmosphere to the event.
The riders, performing in tandem with the renowned «paradise» horses, created a real sensation. Festival participants and guests watched the stunts of Ahal-teke horses with great interest and praised the complex routines of the world-renowned group, greeting them with thunderous applause.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly-Hero Serdar, various equestrian sports are currently actively developing in our country. In this regard, the important role of the national equestrian games group «Galkynyş» is noteworthy.
This major international festival also featured performances from Japan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Spain, Lithuania, Russia, Italy, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Bangladesh, Georgia, Lebanon, Tanzania, and many other countries. The program included cultural events, folk dances, musical compositions, and theatrical performances. But the performances of Turkmen horsemen attracted particular attention.
It is also worth noting the significance of this festival for bringing peoples together, promoting national traditions, sharing experiences, and fostering scholarly understanding of enduring national values. This opens up broad opportunities for developing international relations in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
On the final day of the International festival of ethnosport and culture, which brought together more than a thousand participants from 24 countries, an awards ceremony was held.
