In the Fatih University of Istanbul the solemn opening of the scientific conference “Magtymguly and world culture” took place on the occasion of the 290th birthday anniversary of the illustrious son of the Turkmen nation.
The delegation of scholars and workers of culture of Turkmenistan was sent to the republic of Turkey to participate in the scientific forum. The Academy y of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Union of international universities, Fatih University and international Turkmen- Turkish University act as organizers of the conference in honour of the great poet and humanist.
The main goal of the scientific forum is to carry out the study and popularization of the classic literary and philosophic legacy of Magtymguly Phyragy, exploration of interrelation between languages and literature of the East.
In the course of the work of four sections of the conference joint work of scholars to reveal and study the valuable Turkmen manuscript legacy, new publications, and materials, biography of the poet, his contemporaries and followers were discussed and considered widely. They have also looked at the topics of influence of Magtymguly on development of culture, language and literary legacy of the Turkic world.
In the concert program for participants of the conference the folklore groups of the Turkmen state institute of culture and Turkmen art masters performed and their programs included national melodies and songs based on the works of Magtymguly Phyragy.
Tomorrow the scientific conference “Magtymguly and world culture” will continue its work.
Within the framework of the conference, the presentation of the works of Magtymguly Phyragy in Turkish is expected to take place there.
