The play Döwlet guşy based on the novel by the President of Turkmenistan was premiered on the stage of the Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan.

The cabinet ministers, heads of Mejlis, ministries and departments, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, Turkmen ambassadors in foreign countries, cultural workers and artists, representatives of the media and public organisations and students of art schools gathered together in the theatre auditorium. Delegates of the XVII Conference of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens and foreign guests, who arrived in our country to participate in the Independence Day celebrations, were among the spectators.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov devoted his novel Döwlet guşy to his father Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov, whose childhood fell on the war years. The Turkmen leader tells the readers about his father, relying not only on his childhood memories, but also on documentary evidence for the selfless service of the main character in the novel to the Fatherland and the people and his moral irreproachability and dignity.

The play Döwlet guşy is abundant in symbolic images, iconic details and associative references that help the author convey the rich content of the novel as well as the touching and sincere feelings it is permeated with. The novel as well as the play based on it centre on the reflections on the fate of the world and the peace that should be cherished and protected. Young Myalikguly is the hero of war rather than its child. After his father Berdimuhamed Annaev had gone to war, he had to carry the care and responsibility for his family on his shoulders and work hard during those severe years.

The final scenes of the play - a meeting of the heroes of war in victorious May and the wedding - sound like the hymn to the fortitude and unbending spirit that help to withstand any ordeals.

The play that glorifies the high dignity and humanity, kindness and love, imperishable moral values has the strong spiritual appeal. It is clear and understandable to a contemporary audience and intended for the present generation. The Turkmen leader wrote in his book: "I am infinitely proud of my father, who courageously endured all the hardships, helped his villagers and showed great heroism ... The path of life of my father is the great school for me, his inherent moral qualities are the ideal for me, the university of my life."

Döwlet guşy is the sincere play that carries a powerful life-affirming charge and touches the spectators to the bottom of their heart. The best evidence of this is the success of the premiere production Döwlet guşy with the grateful spectators, who rewarded the authors with a well-deserved ovation.
