Within the framework of the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan H.Ovezov to the city of Herat there were held negotiations with the representatives of Afghanistan.

The visit started from the talks of the delegations of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in an expanded format. Then the meetings were held in working group’s format on various directions of cooperation.

During the meeting of the working group on the border and security, the issues of the security of Turkmen-Afghan border, as well as the big economic projects implemented by Turkmenistan in Afghanistan were discussed.

At the meeting on the issues of TAPI gas pipeline the sides considered important issues of the implementation of this project. In particular, the issues connected with “Herat station” strategy were discussed.

At the meeting on cooperation in the energy sphere, the sides exchanged views on the project of the construction of the TAP transmission line, and also on some long-term contracts in this direction.

The issues of the construction of the railroads Aqina-Andkhoy and Torghundi-Herat were considered at the meeting on the cooperation in the sphere of railways.

At the Turkmen-Afghan meeting on the development of bilateral trade cooperation, the parties discussed the issues of Import and Export between the two countries.
