More than two hundred short films from Central Asian countries were submitted to the "Shoot in 48 Hours" 2024 competition. The competition, held among cinema enthusiasts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, is very popular among young people taking their first steps in the film industry. Many creative teams gather in a short period of time to create their own masterpiece and make history in the project.

Traditionally, participants receive the creative assignment 15 minutes before the start. It consists of a specific object, location and phrase that must be included in the film. This time, the assignment consisted of the phrase "We are here," the character of a girl in blue, and the object "House" that had to appear in the frame.

Over the course of two shooting days, the participants had to develop a screenplay, choose a shooting location, edit and process the footage, and overlay audio, while adhering to all technical parameters specified in the competition rules.

Fourteen film teams from Turkmenistan successfully completed the assignment. Films with intriguing titles such as "Cradle of Hope", "Durmuş öwrümi", "Wagt", "From the Life of a Veterinarian", "Gift", "Dream", "Not Magic" and others will soon be available for viewing.

The Central Asian Short Film Competition "Shoot in 48 Hours" is being held for the 9th time. This year, a total of 755 applications were submitted for participation. The list of finalists who made it to the Top-48 of the competition will be announced by April 30.
