As part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, on the 29th to 30th of April in Almaty, with the support of the international organization TURKSOY, the international film festival Farabi Film Festival was held, in which filmmakers from Turkmenistan took part.

The artistic and journalistic film of the «Turkmenfilm» association named after Oguzkhan «Dutaryň owazy» («Melodies of Dutar») by the young director Isgendermuhammet Annamuhamedov was presented at the festival. The film aroused the interest of film screening participants and was awarded a special prize by the film festival jury.

The film «Dutaryň owazy» introduced film critics and viewers to the traditional musical art of the Turkmen people at other international festivals, in particular, the Minsk International Film Festival «Listapad» and the International Film Festival of the Turkic World «Gorkut Ata». Let us remind that the baton of the «Gorkut Ata» film festival was passed to Turkmenistan this year along with the title of the cultural capital of the Turkic world, which the city of Anev became.
