The Exhibition Centre for Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan hosted a personal exhibition of works by the Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Kakageldi Seyitmuhammedov, who turned 75 this year.

Members of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, including many friends and like-minded people with whom Kakageldi Seyitmuhammedov shared his student years, gathered to congratulate the hero of the day on this glorious date, as well as to evaluate his achievements in creativity.

The hero of the day exhibited about 70 of his works to the audience. This was the case even when he studied in Ashgabat at the Turkmen State Art School, and then at the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.

He was not attracted to the high-rise buildings of cityscapes, and therefore, returning to his native village, he painted familiar rural streets, which he really missed while in noisy, densely populated cities.

An example of this is the painting «On the Street. My student years». One of the works that especially attracts the attention of visitors is «My Street», which depicts a boy running after a ball.

The neatness of the asphalt street with night lighting and decorated with lawns along the edges indicates the well-being of the village. The boy running along it can be symbolically considered as the future of the village, even more comfortable for living.

An interesting exhibition of the portrait genre opens with a self-portrait of the artist. This exhibition can be called a family one, because it contains portraits of daughters Enejan and Aygul, as well as grandson Kerven, and in the middle is a portrait of Seyitmuhammet, the artist’s father.

By the way, the faces of children, but already much older, are recognizable in other paintings by Kakageldi Seyitmuhammedov. Art lovers perceived Kakageldi Seyitmuhammedov as the singer of his village, but professionals consider him more of a monumentalist and focus on his multi-figure works depicting holidays in the village.

Toy in the village is a feast for the whole world, in which almost all villagers participate. The exhibition contains several paintings dedicated to this topic. Visitors to the exhibition looked at the rural landscapes with interest, admiring the beauty of the fields, beautiful in any weather and at any time of the day.

One of Kakageldi Seyitmuhammedov’s paintings is «Road». It leads from the village somewhere far, far away, perhaps a world opens up before it with other villages and cities, as well as the people living there.
